 What is IELTS test?

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is planned for those people who want to go abroad for job and higher study. To pass this test, you need to understand it types, dos and don’ts and also it’s marking criteria. This test is also called 4 skills based test; because of this your ability of Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading are checked properly. IELTS Speaking and Reading test are same but Writing and Listening are not same but also difficult.

IELTS Speaking test overview

There are 3 important parts of IELTS Speaking test. Total time of this test is 11 to 14 minutes. IELTS Speaking part one is all about introductory questions and answers. Part two consists of 1 cue card preparation and to speak about particular topic which is given in the Cue card by your examiner. Part three is related to the part 2 questions and detailed part.

IELTS Speaking part 2

IELTS Speaking part 2 is all about questions. This part is difficult rather than part 1. In part 2, your examiner gives you 1 Cue card with particular topic. You are to give 1 minute time to prepare its answers. You are to speak 1 to 2 minutes in Cue card. In this time, your examiner turns on the recorder to judge your time length. Speaking part 2 is taken within 3 to 4 minutes.

These IELTS Speaking part 2 tips are fruitful for you to the exam. These are

Ø  First of all, you need to prepare yourself according to the given questions and take relevant vocabulary and correct pronunciation and make your own notes if it easily possible for you.

  • Introduction, main body and conclusion help you for taking brilliant bands in IELTS Speaking test.
  • You have no restriction to ask question again if you don’t understand them. You can say examiner to repeat it.
  • After taking Cue card you are to give 1 to 2 minute time to control your time and attempt to covers all question.
  • For specific topic, use good Vocabulary and avoid big and familiar words.
  • To use correct Sentence Structure model verbs, passive voice relative clauses adjective and adverb etc.
  • Be enough friendly and speak politely.

Dos: Speaking part 2

Do – 1

1 to 2 minute time is given for preparation and you are to speak all question and aspects in the Task card. You need to use this time wisely.

For getting good score in IELTS Speaking part 2, you need to represent Cue card with an Introduction, main body and analyses effectively.

Do – 3

You are asks examiner to repeat question if you don’t understand something.

Do – 4

To use good vocabulary, coherence and cohesive devices; you are got good bands in IELTS Speaking test.

For taking higher scores in IELTS Speaking test, keep accuracy and English fluency in balance.
